Stretching does not cut soreness
Stretching before or after exercise has little or no effect on subsequent muscle soreness, research shows.
I never stretch to eliminate soreness but do it to warm up, increase blood flow to my muscles, decrease body pain, and to maintain flexibility. I have found that doing simple yoga stretches for 20 minutes a few times a week totally eliminated my back pain problems.
