Lack of shut-eye leads to fatter kids, study says
Want a simple solution to help your children fight becoming fat? No, the solution is not a diet, it is sleep. Studies show the right amount of sleep balances chemicals in the body that control appetite and help prevent overeating. The health studies also shows that more sleep leads to more active children and adults because they are less tired throughout the day. Study conclusion -With every additional hour of sleep, 3rd graders are 40% less likely to become obese by the 6th grade.
I also venture to say that children who are required to go to bed on a curfew probably grow up in a more structured household. Children who grow up in a structured household environment are much more likely to discipline their eating habits and not overeat.
