A recent study showed that a potentially harmful substance called BPA, which seeps into food and drinks in certain plastic containers like water bottles, is present in 90% of the people tested. Even worse, BPA was found in breast milk and umbilical cord blood. While the effects of BPA on humans are still being studied, it is known to cause harmful effects in other animals.
